How to Report a Stranded Animal, Nesting Turtle or Turtle Tracks

To report a wounded, stranded bird, turtle or other non-domestic animal, call the ARK at (361) 749-6793. If no one answers, please leave a detailed message and your name and return phone number.

But don’t stop there. If you have found a wounded creature or have spotted a nesting turtle on Mustang or San Jose beaches, it may be a few hours before ARK volunteers have time to check the phone messages since they are out and about on the ARK property caring for many birds and animals.

Important Notice: Never push a stranded Sea Turtle or Dolphin back out to sea. It has washed up for a reason and will require help.

WARNING:
SEA TURTLES, BIRDS AND MOST MAMMALS ARE PROTECTED BY LAW
AND MANY ARE DANGEROUS TO HANDLE!
