How to Report
a Stranded Animal, Nesting Turtle or Turtle Tracks
To report a wounded, stranded bird, turtle or other non-domestic animal, call Tony Amos at (361) 442-7638 or the ARK at (361) 749-6793.
If no one answers, please leave a detailed message and your name
and return phone number.
But don’t stop there. If you have found a wounded creature or have spotted a
nesting turtle on Mustang or San Jose beaches, it may be a few hours before ARK volunteers have time to
check the phone messages since they are out and about on the ARK property caring for many birds and
animals.
If you leave a message at the ARK, immediately follow-up by calling Tony Amos on his cell at (361) 442-7638. Someone will then respond to the location to assist.
Important Notice: Never push a stranded Sea Turtle or Dolphin back out to sea. It has washed up for a reason and will require
help.
